After all this time, I can finally understand the appeal of Peter Voulkos' molding videos. Perhaps it is the interaction of instantaneous judgments, in a way that can hardly be described in technical terms, resulting in a story-like performance, that I find so intriguing.
Even though it is not a new approach or idea, I believe I have a unique way of touching the materials and a sense of balance for extracting mysterious forms and expressions.
What I consider the most important is not the technique or the set of techniques, but the "sensibility" needed to build a complicit relationship between the materials and the difficult-to-control space and time.
